Help build technology that makes a difference, at Van Stratum Horst.
We specialize in delivering temporary power solutions, from rental to sales and service. Our broad portfolio includes generators, transformers, load banks, power distribution systems, lighting, and cabling, all developed and built in our own workshop.
Our customers rely on us when it truly matters, during outages, large-scale events, or critical operations. In those situations, you need a solution that works immediately and does exactly what it needs to do. That’s why we deliver equipment that is not only well engineered, but also carefully built and reliable. We make sure everything that leaves our workshop does exactly what it’s designed to do. And we take pride in that.
What does your workday look like?
As a Machine Builder at Van Stratum, you will work on assembling and refurbishing equipment for temporary power solutions. You build machines that are not only technically sound, but that make a real difference when it matters most.
From generators and transformers to distribution boards and other power systems, you ensure everything is built properly and ready to perform when it matters. You assemble equipment based on detailed 2D/3D drawings and build specifications, applying your technical expertise to make sure everything fits and functions correctly.
Your work is not only focused on building new machines, but also on refurbishing existing equipment. This helps ensure that the systems we deliver to our customers remain reliable, even as conditions change. You contribute ideas for improvements that enhance performance and support the long-term reliability of our equipment.
In addition, you work with your colleagues on smaller constructions, such as assembling and welding frames. Collaboration in the workshop is essential: you work closely together to ensure everything is properly built and that we consistently deliver reliable equipment our customers can depend on.

Building high-quality engineering together
At Van Stratum, we work with a small, close-knit team. As a family business, we have grown since 1953 from radios and public address systems into a reliable partner in temporary power solutions. What has remained is our passion for technology, our practical approach, and the belief that good work speaks for itself.
We know each other well and keep hierarchy to a minimum. Everyone speaks openly, which means we understand what’s going on with our colleagues. We don’t think in silos. We take responsibility together. This gives everyone the space to approach their work in their own way and grow in what they do best.
That pride starts with people who have a passion for technology, people who take their craft seriously, aim to deliver quality, and are motivated by making a difference together.
