Keep everything running.

Become an Electrical Technician at Van Stratum Horst.

We specialize in temporary power solutions. This includes generators, transformers, distribution boards, control panels, and cabling: everything needed to ensure reliable power during outages, events, or technical disruptions. Our solutions are used in environments where power systems need to perform under pressure.

That’s why everything we do is focused on reliability, quality, and precision. Every component that leaves our workshop must be right. No loose ends, no shortcuts. As an Electrical Technician, you play a key role in this: you ensure every detail is correct, from the smallest cable to the most complex control panel, so everything keeps running when it matters most.

What does your workday look like?

As an Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for building, testing, and inspecting all electrical components within our rental fleet. You’ll mainly work in our workshop in Horst, and occasionally on-site at customer locations. You’ll work on distribution boards, assemble and refurbish cables, and ensure that used equipment is restored to a like-new condition before it goes back out.

You are responsible for maintenance and repair work on our rental fleet, including servicing and inspecting control panels and power distribution systems. You also contribute to the assembly and development of new equipment, both for our own rental fleet and for our customers.

Over time, you’ll learn how everything works and take on more responsibility for inspecting equipment returning from the field or being prepared for transport. Occasionally, you’ll also join a team on-site to assist with installing or testing a system at a customer location.

You work with equipment that not only needs to be technically sound, but also reliable, safe, and durable. Whether it’s for a hospital, an event, or an industrial site, your work ensures our solutions continue to perform, especially when it matters most.

Building high-quality engineering together

At Van Stratum, we work with a small, close-knit team. As a family business, we have grown since 1953 from radios and public address systems into a reliable partner in temporary power solutions. What has remained is our passion for technology, our practical approach, and the belief that good work speaks for itself.

We know each other well and keep hierarchy to a minimum. Everyone speaks openly, which means we understand what’s going on with our colleagues. We don’t think in silos. We take responsibility together. This gives everyone the space to approach their work in their own way and grow in what they do best.

We build solutions our customers can rely on. And we take pride in that. That pride starts with people who have a passion for technology, people who take their craft seriously, aim to deliver quality, and are motivated by making a difference together.
